John Munch is a fictional character played by actor Richard Belzer; the character Munch has spanned over 20 years and 22 seasons on TV.

Munch has become the only fictional character played by a single actor, to appear on ten different television  shows on different networks; NBC, FOX, UPN, HBO, ABC. 

Munch has been one of the few television character to cross genre, appearing not only in crime drama but sitcom, late night comedy and horror and science fiction and international television series (UK crime drama).
