Help! God is Punishing Me for My Poor Choices
Let say you're a believing single christian, praying to God for a life partner. You meet someone you're attracted and interested in, who claims to be on the same faith level as you; deep within your spirit mind you can tell that something don't quite add up. You ignore every warning sign by the Holy Spirit! You date and finally married this person and then realize the person was not truly who he/she claimed to be all along.
You find yourself in a miserable marriage that you consider a living hell; then you start believing that since you disobeyed the warnings of the spirit of God, it was all your fault. God is punishing you for making the wrong choice and the least you can do is to accept the circumstance the way it is.
The truth is God does not punish us for the poor choices we make.
II Peter3:9
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promises, as some understand slowness. Instead HE is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
Nevertheless, there are always consequences for wrong choices but that doesn't mean that God is furious with us and want us to feel HIS wrath. Just like any earthly parent, HE would allow us go through some of the consequences to learn discipline because HE loves us very much.
Proverbs 3:11-12
My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline, and do not resent HIS rebuke;because the LORD discipline those HE loves, as a father the son he delights in.
Deuteronomy 8:5
Know this in your heart that as a man discipline his son, so the LORD your GOD disciplines you.
I hope you allow this truth sink in your heart and not give room to voices accusing you of GOD's punishment against you. HE loves you more than you will ever know.

God does not want His children to experience pain,we do experience it not because God is inflicting it upon us as punishment, but because this pain and suffering is a natural consequence of our disobedience.

DeleteGod created us "simple " but we complicate our lives by living according to the world's standards, forgetting the simple teachings of Jesus. Due to our selfish desires we disobey God and instead of turning back to him in repentance, we try to help ourselves without involving the Almighty. When you don't seek him, you loose focus and frustration sets in then you cast the blame on God. To obey is better than sacrifice. .. always obey the leading of the spirit, there is no short cut to this. With God you can never go wrong, never make wrong choices and never loose focus. My Jesus, my Everything.

ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree with you more, the truth is as humans we're bound to make mistakes if we continue to rely on our flesh, but the truth is God has made provision for that already through HIS grace and all we need to do is tap into that grace and HE will get us back to the position we ought to be.
